I could have swore that when I first got the car and pressed the button to reset mpg, the display went to zero and then started to average mpg again. I find now that when I press the button to reset mpg, I get dashes and then the display goes immediately to the previous mpg.

On your cars, is the mpg reset to zero (after pressing button) and then it starts averaging again? What am I missing?
