Dodge Caliber Aftermarket Sound Systems

Has anyone installed any aftermarket stereos or sound systems in their Caliber? Or even tried a dash kit with their stereos? I'd like to see some pictures too!

Stereo Info...

Hi I'm a newbie to caliberSRT4.net... my name is Jenn and I own a 2007 Caliber SXT in sunburst orange. I love it.. it is such a fun car. I got the optional upgraded sound system with the boston accoustic speakers. I have an alpine amp that a friend gave me. I'm curious about getting a new deck and maybe installing the amp. I mainly got the upgraded stereo package because i wanted the stereo controls on the steering wheel... and I love the flip down speakers in the back. Unfortunatelly I know nothing about stereos... so any suggestions/advice would be really appreciated. I am not going to install it myself but i don't want to go into a store and get ripped off or buy stuff I don't need. Want to know what I"m talkin about somewhat. Thanks for any help you can pass my way.

Well I feel that same way, I got the boston sound system also for the controls on the steering, Im just hoping that when I upgrade to the eclipse AVN 6600/7000, that I will be able to still use the controls on the steering. But the best way to not get ripped off is by doing research on the net, like the eclipse AVN5345 price is either 1199 or 1299 on the net, when I went to local shop for info on installing, he said we got it all here, well do everything for 1600+175, so I can watch movies anytime and not just when in park...so hrmm thats like 4-500 bucks extra hrmm...whats up with that.

I think within the month you are gonna see some MONSTER audio systems pop up in these forums. The car has been around long enough that there has to be some out there, they just gotta find the site.

best kits have a dash kit and OEM harnesses available.

myself, i was thinkin of getting the upgraded sound pack but have opted out, as i will be gettin a killer system done by my freinds at orion here in australia. dont see the point in spending the extra cash then having it all ripped out just to have the music gate.

allthey are doing is ethier permanently adding or removing a 12v signal that tells the radio your car is in park. it's not hard to do, and the wire will more than likely be labeled. You can go buy a stereo at Best Buy and get it installed for free. just ask the installer to enable the video all the time, and they'll do it.
