scratch on windshield

I have a 7" long scratch on my windshield I believe from when I drug the hose at the power wash over my hood.... it sucks.... cant really see it untill the morning light hits it. I was thinking of waxing my window... to fill it in. I have also seen the rubberish polishing wheels with compound that remove light scratches.. any recommendations? I have 800 miles on her and this scratch will bug me till the end of time...

Take it a automotive glass dealer, they do some amazing repairs
anymore, possibly they can buff it out using jeweller rouge or apply
the same fill they have for chips.

I'd go with bigtsr's suggestion. Have it done by a professional auto glass dealer who knows just what he's doing. Repairing it yourself might only make things worst. Plus, they have all the right equipment for the repair.
