Re: Need advice about OBD-II Code Reader, Code Eraser.

That is the one I was talking about. Works really good. I do have a question for you. Do u have a Map/Tip Clamp installed on your car? You really need one to get the best performance out of the MS1 or a Fuel Ignition/Controller (FIC) would work even better.

Yes, it does work really well, thanks.
No MAP/TIP Clamp or FIC or any other kind of fuel controller.
I know you can lean it out and get slightly better ignition advance timing with a clamp and so make more power.
But I tend to stick with Mopar mods in the vanilla sense because the work and they last.
For example, my 2003 Neon SRT-4 has 89,000 miles on it and just over 70,000 of that is with Mopar Stage 3 + Toys.
I don't run HOM these days (it's a pain in the arse finding good, unleaded race gas that will keep the HOM light lit).
But it gets at least a couple of WOT pulls every time I drive it and still boosts to 20PSI with 170PSI on each cylinder.
Not too shabby for a stock motor on 91-octane California Premium.
So who am I to argue with the Mopar Engineers by clamping it to get a few more numbers at the dyno to brag about?
I'd much rather have almost the same power and total reliability, so I do.
Also, getting back to the CSRT, the MS1 seems decent, almost as much power as the Neon and both on 91 pump.
But I still want the 5.0 V8...

Yeppers on that. What kills me is when I called Kragen yesterday, they acted like I was from another planet, telling me nobody makes a unit that reads and erases OBD-II codes. But RysaMess provoked me into double checking with AutoZone, which was actually what you advised also.

Actually, it seems as though most CSRT peeps will have a CEL sooner or later, especiallly when the mod it, so it's a requirement to be able to read the codes and erase them as well. It used to be much easier with the Neon (ignition key on-off-on to read the codes and disconnect the batter for 15 minutes to clear the codes) but the CSRT apparently requires a unit to do the same thing and this unit for $50 is perfect for that.

So in the end, it all worked out. And best of all, this is now pretty well document here for anyone else who has the same issue.

Re: Need advice about OBD-II Code Reader, Code Eraser.

No codes or MILF's after a week of rocking the stock PCM.

So I reinstalled the MS1 PCM this morning.
Romped on it hard for a couple of hours.
Wow, it's such a fun car to drive with MS1.
Saw 16PSI at redline in 3rd.
Not too bad on 91 octane California pump.
No codes or MILF's either.

MS1 may use a little more gas (about 23MPG avg vs 25 avg stock)
But gas prices here in California are lower right now (3.07 for 91) so who cares.
MS1 is definitly fun so I think I'll just keep it.
Research indicates the P0300-MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE is not uncommon for these cars.
Regardless, I'm now better prepared with a scan tool to read and clear any codes if they do pop up.
