Engine cover, included or not?

Good afternoon all,

I recently purchased a 2007 Caliber, with the 2.0 engine. I noticed in pictures that some have a nice cover over the engine, looks to be just a nice decorative piece. My engine does not have this cover. Is this standard in the US, to have it, and I am just missing mine, or did some Calibers come without them? Thanks for any feedback.
Steve

The engine covers were discontinued on the SE and SXT models
in February of '07 for supposed cost cutting.
They continue to come on the RT and CSRT4 models however
and can be purchased as a part thru Mopar.

The dealership I bought mine from said the covers caused the engine to overheat, then the cover would melt and cause fires. Has anyone heard that excuse before? My company driver is a 2008 and it has the cover.

Sounds like a good way to brush you out of their hair,
mines 2-1/2 yrs old has never overheated and still looks
like new plus have never seen a post regarding a fire.
