Diesel Dodge Caliber

Is there anyone browsing that owns a new 2007 Diesel Dodge Caliber? I hear they have a diesel engine developed by Volkswagen, and that the reason we don't have them in the U.S. is because the engine wasn't able to pass our emissions standards. But the interesting thing is that the new Turbo Diesel VW Bug in the U.S. has a similar engine. Too bad they couldn't use that engine in the Caliber, I bet there are lots of people who would've liked to have a Diesel Caliber in the U.S.

Anyways I would love to hear from Diesel Caliber owners on what they think of their new purchase. Probably turning a lot of heads because Dodge is venturing out into new markets and no one has seen a Dodge before.

Hi

a BIG hi to all members here on calibersrt4.net

Im from germany and bought a Caliber Diesel.
Im very happy with this car - im absolute satisfied! really.

the acceleration of the car is great - Whooow
because of the torque of 310Nm the car inconceivably pulls forward.
0 to 100km in ca. 9secs is not that bad.

I discovered a tuning kit, which will upgrade the caliber to 180hp / 400Nm.
i think, i will buy it next year.

Happy driving,

German_Caliber

PS: Please excuse my poor english

Welcome to our community German_Caliber! It's great to hear from our European buddies, and from a diesel Caliber owner at that. I hear a lot of great things about the VW CRD, too bad it's not offered in the states. Our emissions standards, especially in California ,are extremely high. The VW CRD wasn't clean enough ,which is why we don't have it here.

Your English is pretty good, no need to apologize! I'd say it's a lot better than some english only speakers. Hah.

Stick around and be sure to tell your friends about us!

thanks for the nice admission in your forum, richard.

dont knew, that the emissions are stronger than here in europe.
the caliber diesel has the "Euro-4 Norm". without the new soot-filter integrated.
In future, the filter system is a "must have". the tax rate for the car will be very expensive without the filter system. It will be located between the exhaust and motor.

Hey, i saw the body-kit on the sema - pics. incredible cool!
I want to be the first in germany, who has it on the caliber.

i wonder, that the 4-wheel driven Caliber isnt available here in germany - Bad, isnt it ?

ok, thats all for the moment.

Have a nice day

Hi Dudes!

I'm German too. And I'm still waiting for my black Caliber SXT CRD.
I had an eye on the DUB Caliber for a while now.
My Caliber comes with Dropstars 20inch wheels directly from my dealer.
Hope I dont have to wait so long anymore.

C ya!

Brother

Diesel Caiber

Hi,

I'm from Australia and have recenlty purchased a 2.0 Diesel Dodge Caliber.

It's a fantastic car but now I am in the market for some parts to upgrade it.

Do you guys have an ideas as to how I can get some upgrades for it. I haven't been able to find any as of yet.

Please let me know I'd be very grateful if you did.

Thanks,

-Ap0xX
