Does the SRT4 really sell within $1k of sticker?

I am in the market for an SRT4 (and when I get one, I'm sure I'll be quite active in this forum). I was very close to buying one this evening, but the dealer wouldn't move much at all off the sticker price. I tried with competing offers for other cars and what other dealerships had made up, but the best they would do is $100 over what they claim their invoice was. That turned out to be about $900 or so off the sticker. I walked out, because I wasn't anticipating spending that much dough.

Are most of these things going for close to sticker? If so, I guess I'll have to get one with fewer options.

yea at most you might get 1500 off thats what about i got off plus try to get free shit out of them like oil changes and tires w.e can so it equals to more off thats also what i did. but for your answer if someone is going lower then sticker its a good deal with these cars alot of dealership are going over sticker the first two dealers i went to one was 6k over sticker the other 4.5k over sticker so just try your best but dont be upset

I ordered mine the way I wanted it for $500 below invoice. Of course, a bird in the hand ...

if you can find a dealership that's itching to make the sale anything is possible,
i got a pretty amazing deal on mine, but i negotiated the hell outta it, and my dealership kinda hates me, haha...
It's sticker price was a $32,000 but i negotiated so that with taxes and interest factored in (plus the buyout at the end of the 2 yr lease) i will only pay a total of 30,000 (CAD). I'm pretty happy with the deal i got.

Just go to edmunds and price it out their to get the invoice. then go get your financing lined up somewhere and go tell them you will pay invoice if they want to sell a car cash no trade. You may have to order or walk out. If dealer blows you off when you do get one go back and ask them how they like your new car. Remember they make 3% holdback so they are loosing over $600 or more even selling at invoice.

the best deal......

Mine was 25K on the sticker. I paid 22,800 after taxes and tags with no money down. And I hear there is a rebate now up to 2000 bucaroos depending on who you are and where you live. I bought mine back in Feb., and there were no rebates available. But the market sucks and salesmen and dealers are itchin to move cars. The worst they can say is no deal.

Either You Fellows Are Lying Or The Dealership Tricked You Some How. If Those Prices You Are Saying Are Real They Are Loosing Over A Grand For Each Deal. I Have No Clue On The Rebate Though. Its Not Here In Texas.
