You need to find out if the thermostat is working, plus is the fan engaging when it's idling a bit, if the water pump was gone usually they'd be making some kind of funny noises or leaking or pulley is wobbling.I'd start by checking the rad houses following their ends to see what hose has the thermostat connected to it, then I'd start the vehicle cold and squeeze that hose with gloves on and wait a few Min's and see if pressure builds up, if no pressure thermostat is shot.If pressure there or not check to see if the fan engages and if it doesn't engage after a few Min's idling then check it's relay and temperature sensor. Also look at the water pumps pulley see when the engine is running if the pulley wobbles etc.I think it's probably the thermostat just sticking or faulty.
Actually dealing with such a new vehicle I might if I were you just bring it in for a free diagnose and pay them to fix that problem asap.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way it be an excellent idea to try and find a service manual for that vehicle or call the dealership ask where the thermostat is located , where the fan relays are and the temperature sensor etc.
