Silver or Black Caliber?

I've decided that I want to buy a Caliber. I went to the dealer and they had a white sxt but from the pictures I seen I want either a Silver Caliber or Black Caliber. I can't decide which would be better. I would hate to pick a color that I will not like in the long run. Maybe someone here can convince me to pick a particular color!

Black cars generally always look good... they also ALWAYS need to be washed as they show every bit of dirt that gets near them

I have the dark steel blue/grey color. Almost black, but not quite with a hint of blue/grey to it. I love the dark look without it being totally black. Dirt still shows, but not so bad that I'd have to wash it everyday.

I bought a Black R/T, last week. It wasn't exactly the color I wanted, but
it was the only R/T AWD for sale in probably a 300+ mile radius.
The color does show "dust" a little more than other colors, but I get alot
of looks and stares!

Is it going to be an R/T or SXT Sport or SXT?

If R/T definitely go black the chrome accents make that car! If it's a Sport I say maybe silver, the blacked out pillars will look nice with silver. If it's a standard SXT I favor black but silver would be okay. Silver is kind of boring but black is hard to keep clean.

I wouldn't mind having a black Caliber. The reason being is that the black plastic moldings that run along the top of the Caliber as while as other places will blend in better. I really don't like the plastic and hope that maybe theres a conversion kit that can swap them out with metal pieces that you can paint body color and that fit flush (along the roof).

Yes I've been worried about the plastic moldings sun fading. My friend's AV has a lot of plastic cladding and they tend to sun fade in an "animal stipe" fashion. She uses TRIM SHINE and so far I've really liked that product. I don't have to use much since the moldings are not that big a % of the car. I guess as long as they don't fade and are looking good it won't matter. I know that some AV owners are covering with plastic with a product called Gatorback. It's applied like a paint to the plastic moldings and doesn't fade. There are a few colors available, so you could probably match a close color or at least a nice accent to the car's paint.

I perfer having painted metal over plastic. I like the Avalanches with metal over the ones with plastic.

Yes. I saw some of those at a Regional AV meet in Huntsville back in May. That was a great weekend. Wish the hubby was as in to cars as me and my BFF.

Don't SETTLE!

All I have to say is that what ever you do choose make sure you get what YOU want. DON'T SETTLE! I did that tooooo many times! I was happy for like a week and then was upset. This time I stuck to it. My Caliber is Marine Blue and it is what I said I wanted from the beginning. The dealers are going to try to talk you into what they have of course, but it is your money so be strong. If you have a little time to wait you can always look at their shipped cars. The dealerships get a fax about 2 weeks out of what cars are on the way to the dealership. I actually picked mine off of those sheets by the options and then put a hold on it. I did this at 2 different dealerships and then waited to see which one showed up first. At least then I knew I was sure to get one. It has been nuts around here. The average time they sit on the lot is between 4-48 hours. If you do it this way you get EXACTLY what you want plus you don't have to try to hurry and get there before everyone else as soon as the truck comes in. The dealerships are also saying that they aren't trading for them with other dealerships to get the ones you might want since they are in such high demand but most will. They are just trying to get you to buy the one they have. They just usually have to have a Caliber to trade the other dealership for the one you wanted. Either way I know you are going to love it!
