Oil change frequency

how soon after should one change the oil after getting the new car? 500 miles, then 1500, then every 3000? Or 500, then 3000? Any thoughts? recommendations? Is it possible to change it to often? (except for wasting money)

I don't think it's harmful to change it too often. I would change it at 1500 miles, then every 3000 miles after that. Also, remember to use the correct oil weight recommended by the manufacturer!

I ordered a caliber manual on e-bay to learn before I even startem my car for the first time. I found out that the 5w30 I was stock-piling for my excessive oil changes was wrong. I used it on my current car, but that is another long irrelivant story. I now have 5w20 for my new car when it arrives.

Obviously your not either very old nor possibly a die hard hotrodder
Hooker manufactured high performance exhaust headers I used them
on a few cars I have owned over the years.
In this case I was referring to the now removed post by that poor
lonely little Russian sweetheart who was looking for love in all
the wrong places.

the post I was referring to was some guy talking about child molestation. It was a pretty long post, and sounded like it was written by someone that had been accused of molestation. So, I was saying, what does this have to do with oil changes.
