Dodge Caliber's Gas Mileage

I'm currently planning on buying a Dodge Caliber, particularly a red 2.0 auto SXT. How much gas mileage has everyone been getting around here? Would it be a better advantage to buy a 2.0 manual over the auto? I know buying a 1.8 manual would have the best mileage but how much performance is sacrificed?

I get 30 in my R/T. The best mileage would be a manual 1.8L, you'll get 35+, thats about 5 more or so over an automatic 2.0L. Depending on how you drive and you're driving conditions. If you're punching it at every stop you'll have a lower mpg.

I'm currently getting between 25 - 30 depending on how I drive. I'm really trying to watch it so I can keep it up close to 30mpg. Esp since gas is $3/gal here in Houston. UGH!!!

How low of gas mileage? Like 5 MPG or low twenties?
I mean, would it be very very obvious or just annoying that you didn't get as much as you thought?

I'd probably get better gas mileage if mine was a manual.

Considering the price of gas... I'll take all that I can get.
