Is a Dodge Caliber or a Jeep Grand Cherokee good for a long road trip?

I was thinking of traveling the U.S. in one of these cars with two of my friends but I'm still not sure which one I should get. I need a car that's gas efficient and also very comfortable for those long drives on the road.
But if anybody has another suggestion of a different car, I'm all for it.

The jeep, caliber is small in comparison, and you will want plenty of room for your stuff and 3 adults.

I own a caliber SRT-4, and it's roomy enough for every long road trip I've taken. I love my seats, too. It's great comfort for the long haul. And my highway mileage is pretty good. I'd choose the caliber.
