Replacing axles.

so the axle i just got replaced a few months ago crapped out on me. i was working on trying to replace a couple wheel studs and the inner cv joint popped out im guessing, and now i cant even get my wheel back on. im thinking it would be easier just to replace the whole thing then risk damaging trying to put the old one back together. does anyone have a step by step or the full service manual pdf, they can give me? i know the basic principal of replacing an axle but i just wanted to know if there are any tricks, or special retainers that i should know about ahead of time.

Was it the joint inside the boot on the inner part of the axle or the outer side of the axle? If it was one of the joints inside the rubber boot then you will have to replace the whole axle, if it just came out of the diff/tranny then you only need to push it back in. It should click when you get it on. You may have to turn it a few time to get the splines realigned. Hope this helps

Hey big#44, sorry i can't answer your question. But i have a question for you... What suspension/wheel mods are you running, if any? It looks like you're going through a lot of axles lately, and i want to avoid that if possible. Good luck with your repair

the axle is still in the tranny. its the inner cv joint that came out.

only thing ive done is lowering springs. the first axle was replaced just because the cv boot was torn and leaking. there was nothing wrong with it yet. and now the new one that they put in fell apart when i jacked up the car.

It would be easier to replace the whole thing.
