| Super Moderator | all right let me break it down for you, the new cold air intake will have a filter that comes with it. witch is why you'll have to remove the box that already has a filter in it. 8-10hp gain is about right I'd go up alittle more though maybe 12-15, which is noticable if you and your car are "one with another" (alittle japanese humor) the reason i give a higher hp is because it depends on the engines hp before you work on it, cold air intakes will usually give about 10-15% gains, not hp exact gains, and that depends if your factory intake is really restrictive, some super cars i.e. the viper, come with pretty much a cold air intake factory. you will have to take care of your purchase though, cleaning the filter is a must I would recommend every 10,000 miles if the filter doesn't come with any cleaning instructions. using air filter cleaners from K&N would probably be the best idea, I hope I've been helpful

I think i said this before but i'll say it again. Intakes DO NOT give 8-10 HP, maybe at crank, but not at the wheels. And no you wont feel a difference in movement but in sound....it just sounds really deep. 12-15hp is just ridiculous, it's a 2.0L 4 bannger...not an srt-8, even then i think thats high. Intakes are low output power adders that in all honesty are designed to make you feel better at the pump and allow people to say they have an intake on their ride, rather than a power adder that gives 15.8-23.7hp. I dont even think with fuel upgrades and reflash would those ridiculous numbers come up, not with this engine. LOL....15.8-23.7 That was not the answer to the question, rather an uneducated opinion. | |
