Dealer Markup?

Are you guys seeing any kind of dealer mark up or the these cars selling at or below sticker. Saw a couple on Ebay that where priced over what the Dodge web site states.

A lot of dealers automatically throw on that markup in an attempt to negotiate you to MSRP. In some cases they can get the premium, like in the limited edition Challenger that will be made in 2008.

The SRT-4's on eBay were going for MSRP, but no one was actually bidding anywhere near what they wanted. Maybe it was the eBay risk factor.

I was able to get my vehicles at below invoice (I bought from a BIG dealership), so you should be able to get them easily at near invoice. I ordered an SE and an SRT-4. Of course, a car on the lot could be more expensive than one that is ordered since it's here and now. Metropolitan dealerships could also be charging more because of supply and demand.

If you're willing to widen your search and wait for delivery, you can get a much better deal.

EDIT: I see that you're in the UAE. When you buy the vehicle in the USA you sign a document that states that you are NOT buying it for resale or export. Just a heads up.

When the nSRT-4 came out all the dealerships around here wanted $3-4K above MSRP. I couldn't get anyone to come dow on the price.

I went to a local auto broker I've used in the past & bought it straight from the factory for MSRP & had it deliver to a near by dealer. I paid the broker something like a $500 flat fee, then have like 100 different backs to run financing through (never use the dealer financing). I filled out one application at the broker & signed my name like 3 times at the dealer before they handed me my keys. It was a dream. I can't think of ever buying a car any other way!

Wow you actually paid someone $500 to get you one??? I got mine from Westbury Dodge. They are the biggest dealer here on L.I. They had 2 of them on the lot. A black one and my silver one. No extra money spent

I think you got a little mixed up. I'm talking Neon SRT-4... not Caliber SRT-4.
Also I stated that I went to every dealer & none would come down on the price. So $500 over was a steal, there were plenty of people paying the mark up just to get one.

Keep in mind this was back in 2003 when they were only for sale in Florida & California. The only SRT-4 here were all shipped in from those places so obviously they were trying to get their money back to cover the shipping & then some. So I was one of the 3rd person in Colorado with a 2004.

I personally will NOT pay a premium to get this car. I've walked out of one dealer already in my area that tried to go that route. On this car, they will not get a premium although I suppose it is dependant on where you live. If some one pays it though, I feel sorry for them. I made 3 phone calls and found 2 other dealers that will sell at "normal" price.

I wouldn't pay a premium on any car... There's to many suitable replacements to be had.
