Nah, I have a theory about that...I figure If I drive one, I will buy one. And since I don't NEED to buy one, I won't drive one....these are the circular arguments I have with myself. ![]()

Re: Comparative Notes: Jeep SRT8 & CSRT4
What happened to me may have happened to you. The dealer did not know he was supposed to remove the four rubber donuts conpressing the front struts. They do this to transport the car on the trailer. To drive such a car is a real scary proposition. My csrt4 was all over the road, as if it were a tremendous toe out condition. Three weeks and 5 trips to the dealership and the mechanics finally discovered their error.

Re: Comparative Notes: Jeep SRT8 & CSRT4
I know this thread is old, but some of your perceptions of the relative performance just aren't backed up by the numbers.
You said a MS1 CSRT4 could catch a JSRT8 in 2nd gear and leave it in 3rd. That makes no sense because the JSRT8 runs a low 13 second 1/4 mile at over 100 mph trap. So in reality a MS1 CSRT4 wouldn't even be able to catch up to the JSRT8 until 4th gear. I like the CSRT4 and all, but my SRT track experience left me very impressed by the Jeep. I quickly realized it was the faster vehicle all-around. Even in the auto-x my time in the Jeep was about 1.5 seconds quicker than my time in the CSRT4, and that's with all my practice driving the CSRT4 and none driving the Jeep. ![]()

Re: Comparative Notes: Jeep SRT8 & CSRT4
Maybe you should consider being a writer/reviewer for a car magazine man!!?? The detail in your thread is unreal! Thanks for it all!

I have thought of it. Most reviews are boring and give little for the reader to get a feel for the car reviewed. I like to know how the torque comes on and how the top end feels, how it feels under braking and cornering regarding peak-Gs. Check my thread on SRT4 vs. Audi A4 if you wish to read a little more. Thanks again!

+ 1 My SRT Track experience backed up everything that I had feared...I want a Jeep SRT8 really bad!!!! I would miss my stick shift but I could get over it if I got to drive that HELLHOUND everyday. It was a breathtaking monster to drive and shamed the Chargers and Challengers that were there. It made the 300C look like a wallowing pig. When you tromp the thing off the line, it just explodes in a crazy wave of sound and fury. It will pin your ass to the seat and remind you that you could hang with some very rare company out there on the mean streets. I even liked the interior of the GC. Sadly, I can't say the same for the other three cars I drove that day.
