(Ottawa) Brand new Blizzaks for Sale!!!!!!!

Brand new Bridgestone Blizzaks for sale (225/50 R18)

If you live in Ottawa then you'll need winter tires, that's why I'm letting you know. I went in to Initial Tuning and saw that they are selling these tires and there the last ones available for a while. They are offering a great deal on these tires, i almost just bought some myself lol.

Anyway they are asking $227.50 for each tire, which in that size is a bargin.
$910.00 for the set of 4.

"Initial Tuning Inc." is located at 18 E Enterprise, which is off of Merival.

Phone # is (613) 739-8000 (Ask for John)

good price, I paid $310 a tire last season, but by the time I got to ordering, blizzaks in that size we're selling like hot cakes/availablity was close to none...

I went to them last November for mine, got a nice set of RTX Hemlock wheels/tire package, clean install, nice people. We had to test fit a bunch of wheels, but they helped me out, just kept ordering hahaha... Could've been a bit quicker [or I should have gone in sooner , csrt4 + bald tires + snow = :S (I paid in early Nov, tires came in Dec), but I did decide to go into the shop right during SEMA (when the main guys were down in Vegas, shop was down a few people)

I already got mine or I'd jump at 'em

tires vs winter beater

Anyone else decided its cheaper to buy a winter beater than winter tires?

At 1000$ for the tires plus another 500-1000 for rims it seems to make sense to me to just garage the car for the winter and avoid having it rot after a couple years.

I figure 2000$ for a beater in quebec should last me a couple winters "low ks just use it to get to work".

After watching my first new car "jeep tj 05" slowly deteriorate after 4 years I just dont know if I cant watch my baby be sacrificed to the salt gods.
Sure its a pain to have a winter car but in 8 years the Cali will still look new.

Anyone else come to this same conclusion?
Or am I the only willing to let my car sit for the winter?

I did come to that conclusion... but then I ran past it and decided to keep driving'er (I'm also on a lease... so... really, it's silly to park a leased vehicle unless you're overmileage)

I dropped just shy of $2,500 CAD for a wheel/tire combo, they work/look great, so I'm happy. I seriously think my CSRT4 is better on the snow covered highways than my TJ or Liberty ever were.

I definitly could've bought a beater jeep or car for that kinda money...

I do think parking your csrt4 in the winter will definitly make the car last a whole longer/stay in better shape, but I'm still at the point where I'm not sure I'm gonna buy it out.

Personnally, I will drive it because, two plates, two insurance, money for the car... then trouble of looking for a place to store it if you do not have a garage. Then if the beater has problem gotta fix them, brakes, oil changes, suspension...

So I got 4 oem csrt4 mags, 4 f1 tires and 4 winter blizzak tires for 1500$ (19'')

The mags have 10 000 km
F1 5000 km
winter 5000km

So that works for me, I do not think I would be abl to get a beater + all the extras for the same price. But let say money was not an option, I would store it or if someone would give me a descent car (family member).

Because lets face it, I bought this car because I love to drive new and good looking car summer or winter, so I would not be able to drive a beater, but that is my poblem.

Any way store or drive it, if you drive it pay fr a GOOD anti rust treatment and make sure you get it cleaned often to remove the salt from it.

PS: the caliber will not be produce in 2010 and on, so if you keep it in good shape, you will still have a good reselling price.

cheers

If you do plan on driving your CSRT4 in the winter, I highly suggest these tires, I drove to/from tremblant w/ them at least 20 times last season and they are GREAT!

OFFTOPIC:!:!

Yea certain Chrysler vehicles have been retaining pretty good value recently... I was speaking with this GM @ a local dealer I know who was saying that recently they've been seeing a bunch of lease returns (vehicles such as TJ's, or GC SRT8's) where the customer is actually getting a cheque back from Chrysler Financial because the car is worth more than the buyout that never happens, I'd be happier than a pig in shit if next summer when my lease is due I actually get some money back (or come out even for that matter, they always try to fuck you when you lease... 'cause if they're the ones fucking you, you're fucked, you can't go anywhere else (too much negative equity, it'll cost you too much), so they force you to go back to where you leased your last vehicle, 'cause they're the only ones who can reduce the intensity of the f-ing
