You can try and fold it in the same way it is curving, I do not know how to say this... You can close it lik a clam, not to much, when it is done, try to move it near the back and then lift it in the air and the heat shield should get out. I know that was one of the other tuff part . It is aluminum, so it can bend with no problem, just be gentle when you bend it, bend it a bit, try take it out, and to the same until it gets out.

I do not know any other trick... Oh is it unhook from the srew on the right of the shield (when you are standing in front of the car, your right).

Hope you are able to get it out.

Cheers

Yes, everything was disconnected...I am just wondering how...I tried...but I cant lift it high enough to even begin to bend it like a clam. I tried...did you guys leave the intercooler tube connected? Cause I did and there is no way it is coming off like that. In my opinion anyway.

He wants to remove it because he wants to install a downpipe... I think that is what it is.

I took out everything that could of been in my way, or thought that could of been in my way. But if you unscrewed all 5 screws there should be enough room just to lift it and bend it enough to remove it. I am pretty sure the intercooler tube should be remove.

Like they all said, bend it like a clamshell, and don't need to even bend it all that much. The bolt on the right side, you took out the one that connects to that short black bracket right? Make sure the bracket is out of the way also. Oh and definitely remove the IC tube.

Really no need to take off the engine cover to get to the bracket. To get that bracket off, there is one other bolt to loosen and it will just hang down, or you can pull it up. That area seemed to me to be the toughest part other than the bend you have to do.
