Brain fart..... Epic fail - Dodge Caliber SRT-4 Forums

So Monday I went to the base hobby shop to install my uppipe and hks ssq get car on lift unhook stuff open box and it's the damn neon uppipe! WTF pissed I waisted my time takin shit off the car then to put I back on. Well I was pissed I was sent the wrong part and put the car back together installed my check valve and left. Got on the autobahn floor it to see what kind of gain the check valve gave. When I hear a pop and lose almost all power getting no boost running weak. Start think WTF did I forget or do. Instantly realize I forgot to tighten the hose clamp conecting the pipe to the throttle body. Now I am pissed at myself for a stupid stupa mistake while hopeing I didn't cause any damage. So now I am on the side of the autobahn trying to push this coupler onto the throttle body which is a bitch normally and then times 12 while on the roadside when it's 15f outside. Get it hooked back up get back on it all is well but while flooring it to get up to 130kmh 80mph bam lose all power again well the checkvalve raised boost to 19.3 from 17. So overboost pull over clear the code get out again and adjust the WGA. Then try again boost safely to 17.5 no cut out everything is good finally.

Just thought I would share my moment of doucheness whatever word you can think of I sure felt it. But on a plus I am happy with the gain from the check valve and once I get the right damn uppipe I will get my clamp on to see what gains that does

lol damn man that sux i feel you pain...when i had my 97 gsx i did the same thing but my dumb ass went out in the snow and i forgot to connect the intercooler pipe to the throttle body it was 10F and snowing i was pissed lol but hey atleast your runnin good now

That is 2 funny. LOL I would of though u would have verified that u had the right part before taking everything apart. LOL

Anyway, glad to hear everything is working well.

luckily u didnt permanently foul anything up and your back on the road.

A friend of mine forgot to clamp his intercooler on his WRX, It made a very nice POP-WOOSH on WOT.

That turned embarrassing because I ended up leaving him many car lengths behind, at a time I had a puny Caliber R/T AWD.

sucks man.. hopefulyl u get then new uppipe right away for there screw up.. thats good u didnt do any damage to the engine...

Yeah they supposely shipped it out the same day I called which was Monday so given it's app mail hopefully next week I get it.

Yeah was greatful for no damage.
