removing the door panel?

So i walk out to the parking lot around lunch time today and find that some jerkoff opened their door into the passenger side of my car.. needless to say i was pretty pissed as it left a big enough dent that i could notice it just walking up.. its on the part of the door near the bottom thats kinda raised up and its right on the crease of the metal so a dent puller wouldnt work.. so i was thinking i may be able to push it back out from the back.. tried looking for info on removing the door panel but had no luck.. Can any1 help?

Re: removing the door panel?

There is a video in the DIY for removing door panel....I have a similar problem...Went camping at a park with no lights in the parking stalls and one of my cousins friends guided me in...and he never did a good job and I brushed up against a big wooden post...I havnt looked at my baby the same since...and works too slow right now to fund the fix...sad times! good luck with yours tho!

Re: removing the door panel?

I recently had something similar, but my panel was really bad. i went to the dealer, bought a outer door panel skin and PBS paint, so that i can do it. The door panel was pretty cheap, about 139$ considering the body shop wanted to charge about 1600. IMO its a simple job, as long as you have the time off the do it. in april, ill be off work for a week, so imma take off the old one. its only held together in some spots, and if the edges are grinded off, its pretty easy. then when putting on the new one, you use panel bond and weld small spots here and there. my insurance gave me the $1600, so i can fix it for cheaper, and buy some more mods. i have the tools and supplys to do it, just waiting for april to take kare of it. when i do it, ill get with you to send pics of the process and you can learn from what i did right/wrong...

Re: removing the door panel?

got it off an got the dent bumped out.. was only like an inch big.. but as i feared when it got pushed back out it cracked the paint and a small spot chipped off..

also, my brilliant buddy decided to put the window down after i had taken all the screws out so the guide for the window itself was loose and scratched the shit out of my window.. i was pretty mad

one dent turned into 2 things.. going to take it in on friday and see if i cant get both the paint and the scratch fixed under warranty

Re: removing the door panel?

"Paintless Dent Removal" is big these days. even the dealers use them. the day i bought my car, after it was preped, some one dented it in that same spot on the drivers door right in the dealership lot. that raised crease area on the door. You would be amazed at what these people can do. i set up a time and the dealer brought in the paintless dent guy. i thought they were going to remove the panel or make a hole in the panel. i said this i gotta see. to my amazment the guy made a quarter inch hole on the end of the door where the lock is, traveled 2 feet down inside the door with some kind of long rod/tool and took out the dent. to this day i cant even find the spot with a magnifying glass.

agree with this. I have three small dents on the front left fender on the body line. thought I was screwed and going to need body work to pop them. nope had a dent dr look at it and can pop them no problem. I will post before and after pics.
