Got some questions...(Warning, it's long)

Ok, I know I have been on this forum for over a year now, but I still have questions about some of the things talked about on here, but I have been too nervous to ask about them because of the bashing I would probably receive. However, I decided to go ahead and ask anyway. Be patient with me, you were new to this stuff at one point too.

1) I know what BC Coilovers are...they lower the car....that's pretty much all I know about them. I see they are one of the most suggested suspension upgrades for this car (from what I have read) What am I missing here? What makes them so good? I see they are near $1,000 dollars on Modern Performance's website, that turns me away obviously, but I still want to invest in them if I save up that kind of money one time.

2) This is still part of #1 kind of, I would have no idea how to install the Coilovers, so would the dealer be a good place to install these for me or should I try to find an auto shop to do it for me? If you buy the Coilovers, do you need that rear brace thing? Cuz I have seen pictures of what happens in the rear of the suspension (Not 100% sure on the correct term for that)

3) These questions are somewhat connected...I have the MPx Ninja Strut Bar, do I need to worry about that shortening my suspension life cuz I know (from what I have read) that our suspensions blow ass. Also, with only that strut bar, do I have to worry about that rear suspension issue or is that only if you lower the car?

4) Are you irritated yet?

5) I have 76,000 miles on my car and my stock clutch still feels strong, however, you never can tell when a clutch is going to go unless you can feel it and it starts slipping. I have heard Dodge is back ordered up to high heaven with the stock clutch, what is a good alternative?

6) Building upon question 5, I want a clutch that will feel the same and not too stiff or too light, is what you suggested in #5 feel about the same? If not, how much more different is it?

7) Any other mods you suggest I should think about or look into?

---So, that is all I can think of now. Any responses I appreciate it. I know you want to kill me now. Sorry for the novel. I just want to become a little smarter on this forum so I can help along with the vets here as well as improve the longevity of this car for as long as I can.

BC coilovers are worth it. i had road magnet drag springs before i put on the coilovers because the coilovers were to expensive at the time. the ride quality is so much better. being able to jack up the car and twist a knob to adjust the stiffness is nice. installing them is very easy. im shure the rear brace is a good idea if you drive your car pretty hard. its a must if you upgrade your rear swaybar. the strut bar will not shorten the life of the suspension. it was proven to help handling.

I've heard of stage 3 clutches, I'm sure that would be good haha... I think I'll get one of those when I need to switch mine out.

stock is just to tall and top heavy and is to soft for me. You can adjust the BC's soft or very stiff. Even on the hardest setting I like them better than springs. My car feels like a gokart on the hardest setting.

Re: Got some questions...(Warning, it's long)

For any good coilovers on pretty much any platform your looking at AT LEAST $1k, you have to think its basically all the vital suspension parts brand new and full adjustable, height and dampening. Be glad their only $1k really. Our platform isn't very common therefor supply and demand kicks in. Not too bad of a price really I'd like to pick some up some time. You won't regret it. As for install, haven't done them on the caliber but I have on some other cars. It's not hard really they come loaded with the spring on and it's more just a swap. Can be time consuming but pretty straight forward. Take pics of the stock as ur disassemble and then just replace with the aftermarkets. Use the outrageous cost of a shop to do them as an investment in more csrt parts. Happy coiling

CLUTCH- F!€k the stock dual mass bull shit. If your going to replace it do so with a South bend. If you don't plan on doing much more go go parts go with a stage 1 if u do plan on doing more jump to the stg 3. All are cheaper and better than the oem shit piece. Also if your timid about installing coilovers, definetly take the clutch to a shop but be prepared to loose an assload of cash.

Re: Got some questions...(Warning, it's long)

With coilovers, when installed can u adjust the height or only the stiffness? Or did I just ask the same question twice? I didn't know if once installed they are a pre-determined height. Cuz I want my car lower but not like EXTREMELY low. Didn't know if these are adjustable.
