CaliberSRT4.net Contest: Win a Dodge Caliber Body Kit by American Car Products

CaliberSRT4.net is proud to announce that this month's contest is graciously sponsored by American Car Products. For this month's contest ACP will be giving away a complete body kit and hood to the lucky winner! Be the first to have this never before seen body kit; you'll be the envy of the Dodge Caliber community! The body kit comes with front and rear bumpers as well as a pair of side skirts, while the hood sports an SRT-4 style hood scoop.

To win all you need to do is write a 100-200 word essay telling us why you best deserve this body kit more than anyone else! Along with your essay, please include a few pictures of your Dodge Caliber. Mike from ACP and myself will review all entries and choose the lucky winner.

The body kit and hood are free, there are still some requirements! Although the kit is free, ACP will not be installing this kit. The body shop next to ACP will, and they need to be paid for their services, which is at the tune of $1,500. Mike has assured me that they do top notch show quality work that doesn't disappoint. Once finished, your Dodge Caliber will have it's picture taken by ACP for marketing purposes and is required to sport some fancy shoes to go along with it's new dress, so your Dodge Caliber will be required to have 18 inch or larger custom rims.

Installation will take approximately one week at American Car Products, which is located in Whittier, CA. You will be required to arrange transportation to and from ACP.

No pictures are available of the kit. ACP wants to keep the stylings of the kit under wraps until the first Dodge Caliber has it installed and it's picture taken. ACP will not be able to produce pictures of the kit if you win, as they do not want to run the risk of leaking pictures of there kit before it is released. That said, Mike suggested viewing the kit in person before committing to the install. I have seen pictures of the kit and it looks pretty good.

Rules:
  1. You must be a registered member of CaliberSRT4.net with a minimum post count of 25 by 11-24-06.
  2. Your essay must contain a minimum of 100 words while maintaining a maximum word count of 200.
  3. Your essay must be accompanied by a minimum of 2 photos of your Dodge Caliber.
  4. Entries must be submitted by 11-24-06.
  5. Entries must be entitled "CaliberSRT4.net Contest Entry" and emailed to the following address: admin@calibersrt4.net.
Requirements:
  1. You must be able to deliver your Caliber to AMP in Whittier, CA. Installation time will take approximately one week.
  2. You will be required to pay for paint and installation, which is estimated at $1,500.
  3. Your Caliber must have custom 18 inch rims or larger.
*Rules and Requirements are subject to change.

I know the requirements are pretty steep and not everyone will be able to participate, so be sure to tell ALL your Dodge Caliber friends about this contest. We want to be sure that we have at least a few entries to choose from.

Thumbs down

So let me get this right...We can recieve a "free" bodykit (<$800), but we have to have custom rims and tires at least 18" (>$950), drive our car to CA (>$50 if you're DRIVING from San Diego. even more if its cross country or being shipped), and pay for installation and paint ($1500). So, we're looking at paying at least $2500 for a "free" bodykit? Then they get to use the pictures of the newly installed bodykit for future promotions free of charge?

Sounds like they're on the better end of this "contest."

Yes I understand the requirements are pretty steep. If ACP were a bodyshop I'm sure they would do all this work themselves for free, but they are not. The previous Caliber that was going to have this work done, became unavailable.

ACP asked if there were any members that might be interested in having this work done to their Caliber due to the vancancy. I turned it into a small contest just in case there was more than 1 person that was interested to be fair.

I'm sure the full paint job will be extremely well done and well worth the money. Basically this opportunity is for someone that already planned to have a nice paint job on their Caliber along with a body kit and rims. At least the body kit would be free.

If you know anyone that was already have a nice set of rims and was planning to get a custom paint job, let them know about this contest, I'm sure they wouldn't mind saving $800+ dollars on a body kit.

If CaliberSRT4.net was in a position to donate $1,500 towards the contest I would gladly do so, but ad revenue is not that high (yet ).

Mike just informed me that ACP produces the same kit for the Dodge Charger and that he's going to send me some pictures of the body kit installed on a Charger. Once I get the pictures I'll post them up so everyone can get an idea on what the Dodge Caliber's body kit looks like.

that's a nice charger, but having to shell out that kind of cash and then get your car there kinda kills it.

i could write the blasted essay, but i don't have the cash to get my caliber from miami, fl to ca and then dish out even more cash to get my "free prize" (if i were to win) installed. if ACP wishes to sell this as a kit afterwards, then they should flip the bill. if it truly is an awesome kit, then they will make money, but to shell out over $1500 with any idea what it would look like it tough.

i'm out.
