2007 Dodge Caliber Gain 7.94 HP with K&N Air Intake System

The 2007 Jeep Compass, 2007 Dodge Caliber Gain 7.94 HP with K&N Air Intake System

The 2007 Jeep Compass is a crossover vehicle designed to attract non-traditional Jeep buyers with its compact SUV design. The 2007 Dodge Caliber performs well, and like the Jeep is entering a segment of the automotive market that already has many established players.

K&N Engineering, Inc. has manufactured a 63 Series Air Intake (63-1552) for the 2007 Jeep Compass 2.4 liter engine and for all three engine options of the 2007 Dodge Caliber. The Dodge Caliber comes with the choice of a 1.8 liter, 2.0 liter or 2.4 liter engine.

K&N dynamometer test show a horsepower gain of 7.94 @ 4557 RPM on the 2.4 liter engine. “The factory tube has a big s-shaped bend to it,” said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. “It goes way down under the air box to the throttle body on these vehicles. Its accordion shaped rings are restrictive compared to the K&N engineered air intake.”

For maximum performance simply replace the factory tube and airbox with K&N's air intake system. The 63-1552's tube is smooth with no accordion rings, said Heck. “The heat shield isolates the K&N Air Filter (RU-4730) from the heat of the engine,” he said. “This means more air gets to the engine resulting in more power.”

It takes less than an hour to install this kit. The lifetime K&N Air Filter comes with the famous K&N Million Mile Limited warranty.

Find K&N products for your vehicle using the K&N application search then use the K&N dealer search to find a K&N dealer in your part of the world.

I want one on my vehicle...really nice K&N cold air intake, yes that was easy to install, just less than an hour..this really makes a good sense on every vehicle coz this would bring down the temperature of the air going into a car for the purpose of increasing the power of your engine. and is much denser then warm, humid air.

The K&N CAI is the best designed so far as taking in account the
heat soak considerations,it isolates the filter more effectively
than the MOPAR unit.
A number of Caliber owners on the net have reported that the only
drawback was the increased engine/air intake noise that they have
encountered after installation and several have removed them and
sold them on some of the other Caliber forum sites.

I couldn't wait for an intake system (besides the expensive Mopar version) to come out so I made my own with a Greddy intake filter. If the K&N sounds anything like mine I see where you're coming from. It's noticably louder, but the extra noise led me to believe my Caliber wasn't breathing properly before. It's funny though. When I would down shift on the highway people would look to see what kind of exhaust I had (this was before I changed the exhaust). It's that loud.
