Wheel hop....

Took my car to the track today for a few runs, and the best I ran was a 15 second 1/4 mile, anybody else experience bad wheel hop with there Caliber SRT-4?? First time I was ever on a track and this is the first turbo car I have ever owned, and I got to say, turbo lag sucks!!!

If you can beat a 4 yr old with his Tri-cycle off the line, then I think your doing pretty good.

Here in AZ, we just go to the local Home Depot and hire about 4-5 Illegals to give us a shove off the line. No lag at all.

Get a front mount (we should have them in the next week) and 80% of the wheel hop goes away. Next, turn off the ESP. I will be posting a how to on this here very soon that works but will not effect the cars power out put.

The ESP off button pretty much shuts down traction control completely. I was in the driveway with about six inches of snow, had that button off, and was able to spin the tires at will all the way to red line. It never came in to interrupt.

The stability control is still active, just not as sensitive.

That button only turns it off 50%. It doesn't shut it off 100%. With a scangauge you can turn it off completely.

I had the ESP turned off but it still cut in, When the light is on in the cluster means your ESP is turned on right??? As soon as you find this out PTperformance let us know, that would be great.

I seen the video on youtube of you guys doing a nice burnout, I'm guessing you had the ESP off in order to do one like that. You got to fill us in.

If the light is lit up steady in the cluster it is turned "off". If the light is not on in the cluster it's "on". When "on" the cluster light will flicker when it kicks in. I had to read the manual when I bought mine back in Feb. as I was confused as well.

Are you referring to the traction control or the stability control?
