Torque Steer......again!

Okay, I have been reading the responses at this and other sites regarding torque steer and what minimizes it. The information is very conflicting so its hard to determine which way to go. I just have the MS1 and a wga and the torque steer is abominable. However, the car is so much fun to drive its ridiculous. So once again, what do I need to bring some control back to the car under acceleration? I have heard sway bars, motor mounts, dont drive the car, buy a yugo, as possible solutions but what REALLY works??

Someone earlier posted that motor mounts greatly reduced their torque steer. I haven't tried personally on the SRT yet (still stock), but on other FWD cars, there is merit to his statement. At least upgrading the front and back so as to reduce the twisting of the engine. I also have not looked at the street or strip motor mounts that are talked about here, but there is a guy making solid polyurethane mount inserts for the CSRT now. I have used his stuff in my Shelby charger, and was quite impressed with it all.

I also have read on here that the traction bars offered by bwoody ($219) are a little pricey but do provide a good amount of torque steer reduction.

Does anybody know what the weight distribution is on the corners? You can also shim the swaybar on one side or the other to even things out...
I'll probably start with the motor mounts since they're the easiest and seem to give good results.

Make sure you do your curl's and your bench press's so you can just man-handle that bronco,,,,,,,,,

Just kid'n,,,,,,,,,,I actually have bought the Bwoody traction bars and his motor mounts and I gotta say they are beautiful piece's in themselves. Real solid. Especialy the motor mounts. I'm not sure if they have eurethane in them or a high durometer rubber. They seem to be the rubber, which I like because I don't want it to be too stiff. Which is what I think the eurethane will do. I bought all three mounts as a package. I just need to get off my duff and install them. I want to install them at separate times (traction bars/ motor mounts) starting with the traction bars to see what the differences in torque steer will be. I hope the traction bars plant the tires more on launch. But I got a feeling the mounts will make the bigger difference with TS. I think the problem lay's in the fact that when the engine twist's under hard accel, it pulls on the half shafts to the wheels unequaly. I know dodge did make an effort to reduce TS by making the 2 shafts of equal lenght.

Let me know what you find out. I have the street mm on order but they seem to be on backorder so who knows when I will see them. I have had good success thus far in the parts I have bought (bang for the buck), just dont want any paper weights cluttering my garage.

The front and rear mounts are going to make the biggest difference. These are what keep the motor from rocking back and forth and side to side. The side mounts are more for support and keeping the motor centered (some side to side control).

The traction bars are a must and the b-woody units are ok for the price. If you start running into big turbo power you will need more then this (we ruined a similar design and bent a lower control arm). Full chasis brace with 4130 tube arms are going to be a must. We are going to be selling out boxed lower control arms with traction bars as a kit here very soon. Be ready for $800 price tag on these because the lower arms are not cheap, but boxed units with full tube brace and 4130 traction bars, should keep the tires in place even under the power levels that we are running.
