Running on pure E85 now!!!

This is not the shop car but a customers car and let me tell you... its better than running on pure race gas.

Everything is better, the AFR's are more stable, he can boost higher, no more knock, ect ect. To be honest with you I would have thought more issues would have come up from running on pure E85, but nothing has become an issue yet.

One thing to note, we did have to drop in the 3 step cooler plugs in order to run the boost higher. When the one step cooler units we had some knock issues, 3 step cooler... nada, nope, nothing for knock now.

AFR's are in the 11 to 10's range and the throttle % is still very high (82 + % the whole time).

Mods on the car:

Labbonte S3 WI running 50/50 mix
PTP WGA
PTP/DT injectors
PTP DP
PTP MD
PTP Inlet tube
Mopar S1

We are running 23.8 psi, holding 21 ish to redline. We are going to take a look at swapping over to pure meth in the WI tank to add some additional fuel to the motor so we can take the boost a little higher and have some room to play with on the clamp.

I didn't think this was going to be possible to run this much boost, but the high boost injectors seem to be working very well. I will keep you guys posted on the track results from this coming Wednesday with his car. Thanks.

Okay, now explain what was done to get the car to run on E85. I see Diabl sport has tuners (not for our car though) to do this with a HP/TRQ gain.

Also, how with that mod lsit are you running that high of boost with no limp mode. Its funny, cause I have a very similar mod list just without all the ptp stuff and injectors...my own MD, MPX DP, MS1 and I cant go over17 pounds without the car going into limp mode.

He forgot to put up there that they have the MAP/TIP clamp on the car, but he did mention it in the thread. Else you would be right, it would be a no go. Computer would put a stop to that imediately. Lousey drive by wire throttle body. That thing and the computer are in tandem to ruin all our fun.

We just turned the clamp way down so the car can see all the boost and run into the high 10's for AFRS. The AFR curve is much better now as well, they will spike to 11.2 and fall down into the 10.2 range after the boost settles down. It might almost be to rich running, but the car really likes the fuel.

Sorry, forgot to mention the PTP M/T clamp on the car.

Got a new best with the car running on E85 but all it does is spin the tires out to you the 330 mark.

13.33 at 110 MPH

We will be getting slicks on the car and a new clutch here soon to put the power down to the track for his set up. We should have another 12.8 car here soon with the stock turbo running on E85. I will keep you guys posted on the progress of this car.

Thanks.

I am sure they feel the same way about C16, did anyone ask about that?

Well we have ran it for over a week now and nothing has gone KA BOOOOOM. Trust me we have heard it several times with the shop car as well, if you going to run that much HP its going to go kaboom, well we have proven everyone wrong with that. I guess I will just have to prove everyone wrong with the E85 as well.

I wonder what the Mitsu tech guys would say about the Evo's running on E85? Betcha it would be no different than what the SRT guys said.
