unlocking power is the same as getting more power...the MS1 just unlocks more from the components you already have by adjusting things like ignition and boost...same as a muffler delete...it just adjusts different things like back pressure and makes it less restrictive.

The problem with these cars is obviously the computers...they are way restrictive and way hard to tune...very complex with formulas and equations and stuff...that I think was part of the reason why they are waiting on the hand held tuner...that and demand...but I think we showed the demand.

i have to disagree ms1 is giving you more boost which = more power
intake + DP is letting the turbo breath better fast air in and out = unlocking power is as not always going to feel it but does help

without a fic or a clamp.. it is useless once you reach a point.. unless you have a 09 where you can disable it all together, which i'll be seeing if it pulls the throttle when i get stg 1 in a few weeks. i think the actual limit is 320wtq before the computer really starts to pull power.

The 09's have the ability to just completely disable the ESP versus the 08's. FYI. No difference in the ecm torque limits.

Or pull fuse 34 if you don't have scan gauge.

page 268

Full Off
This mode is intended for off-highway or off-road use
only and should not be used on any public roadways. In
this mode, all TCS and ESP stability features are turned
OFF. To enter the “Full Off” mode, depress and hold the
ESP OFF switch for five seconds while the vehicle is
stopped with the engine running. After five seconds, a
chime will sound, the ESP/TCS Indicator Light will
illuminate, and the ESP OFF message will display in the
vehicle odometer. Press and release the TRIP ODOMETER
button located on the instrument cluster to clear
this message. The “ESP OFF” message may appear in the
Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC). Refer to
“Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)” in Section
4. To turn ESP ON again, momentarily depress the
ESP OFF switch.
WARNING!
In the ESP “Full Off” mode, the engine torque
reduction and stability features are cancelled. Therefore,
the enhanced vehicle stability offered by ESP is
unavailable.
NOTE: When the ESP is switched OFF, a feature of the
system remains active. This feature controls wheel spin
across an axle quite similarly to a limited slip differential.
If one wheel on an axle is spinning faster than the other,
the system will apply the brake of the spinning wheel
and allow more engine torque to be applied to the wheel
that is not spinning. To improve the vehicle’s traction
when driving with tire chains, or when starting off in
deep snow, sand, or gravel, it may be desirable to switch
to the “Partial Off” mode by momentarily depressing the
ESP OFF switch.
268 STARTING AND OPERATING

i'd like it if people didn't know the answer.. just say so instead of blirting out incorrect information.

Atlanta, trust me the car will still pull throttle/boost if you reach the ECU threshold limit with either stock or MS1. Stock ECU can hit overboost code (too much boost) and MS1 with pull throttle around 15 psi. The overall engine nanny is still there even though your 09 ESP is completely off. Make sense? I think we are talking about two different things here?

Now, traction control, yes you can completely turn it off with the 09. Not the 08 model.

I highly doubt that is true. otherwise there wouldnt be a point to get the stage 1 ecu when we could get a 09 ecu. If you put a ms1 in your car it wont matter what year it is because the ms1 most definetly will pull your throttle.
