HID light kits

I am new to buying HID light kits, I was just wondering what to watch out for and where to buy them. I had a set on my RX-8 ages ago but now that I am driving my CSRT4 I miss the HID at night.

Exes make an awesome HID kit. 3yr warranty of the Ballast, 15 months on the Bulbs.
9008/H13 for the headlights, 9145 for the foglights.
I just ordered a bunch of them for me and a few friends on the cinco de mayo group buy.
Just waiting to get them in.

Pm me if you have any more questions.

HID kit

If you do a search in the regular caliber forum, people are having a headache with the conversion kits. Something about the PCM sensing different voltage & shutting off their lights. Head it was a real pain in the a$$.

If you get it to work without a hitch, please provide instructions on how to install correctly.

the voltage causes an issue with the pcm and the car thinks the bulbs ar eblown so it shuts them off (from what i gathered in my little interest on the subject). the fix o far seems to be getting the power for the hid's from the parking lights instead of the actual headlight harness. this is pretty simple to do, the down side though is you lose the ability to run fogs and parks only.

hidsolutions has a nice kit, with good warranty and a damn good price too.

ive got nokya bulbs in my car and they suit me fine, at 40 bucks for fogs and headlights shipped i am very happy. they arent blue , but more very very white with a tiny bit of blue. i get asked all the time where i got my hid's lol, i dont pretend they are as good or nice, but for me they look great and work well plus they were easy on the wallet.

What Highbred means is that the relays to turn on your headlights are powered by the parking lights. The Headlight's main 12v power comes directly from the battery.

So you know if you had normal bulbs, when you go 2 switchs on the stick to turn your headlight on. Well, that won't work anymore.

Now, you would go 1 switch to turn both your parking light & hid headlights on at the same time.

so basically run the hids in parallel with circuit for the park lights instead of the headlights circuit right???

No not parallel.

Only the low current 12v switch should be connected to parking lights.

Main Power: from battery

12v switch: from your parking lights. This is what tells the black box to draw current from the battery to turn on your hid headlights. Think of this as a toggle switch, your thumb to turn on the switch is the small 12v current from your parking lights. Boom, Power from your batter is allowed to power your hid bulbs now.

Oh, always have a fuse near the battery when connecting anything from the battery. If, the wire ever shorted, it will blow the fuse instead of catching your car on fire. Trust me on this, learn the hard way when I was young back in my big amp and subwoofer days.

Ok guys I put 3 sets of HID lights on my SRT 4 Caliber. When driving down the road all the ign cicuits died. Only way to get them back on was to un connect the battery and re set everything. I put relays in line on each balist input with the relays hooked to battery power and headlight wires used as triggers
and it seems to of fixed the problem. I will know more in a few days wish me luck. If your woundering where I put 3 set this is where. I have the halo lights on it I put 35 watt on lows 55 watt on high and a 35 watt on fog lights. The car at night looks awsome.
