Turbo Charged 1.8L

I've been looking at parts on Ebay, and I'm thinking of turbocharging my Caliber. I've never done this before. I know a shop that's willing to make my custom exhaust. I've pieced together a virtual system from Ebay parts. Right now I'm looking at the engine bay to see if there's room for everything and how the pipes will be arranged. I'm a little concerned about running lean on fuel. If the psi's stay fairly low (>10) will my stock injectors be an issue. Also, would I need anything to boost my spark?

If you have the CVT you should be carefull of how much you do to improve the hp over the 172 the R/T has because the CVT may not be designed to handle a lot of extra power the way steel bands do in a convential transmission.

Cvt

I was looking at the Jatco web site jatco.co.jp and the CVT-2 model JF011E is what Dodge has put into the Caliber. Jatco, also makes a JF010E which according to their web site is designed for a 3.5L engine and cars like the NISSAN TEANA, PRESAGE, MURANO, MAXIMA.

We should look into the posibility of swapping the JF011E for the JF010E, then getting a turbo, etc.

if your adding a turbo, your gonna need some sort of fuel management system and a tune, this will take care of your running lean. your stock injectors and pump will be fine if your boost is low. your gonna need a different exhaust mani too. Along with oil lines for the turbo, bov, would recommend an intercooler. theres more than that aswell but most of it should come with your turbo kit.

Will the turbo kit fit on both for 1.8L and 2.0L engines? Is there plans for a turbo charger for those that own a 2.4L AWD or FWD R/T?

Right now our prototype car is a 2.0 SXT FWD. We will be working on kits for all models as they come into our shop. But for now we do offer aerodynamic packages for all models. And next to come will be full exhaust systems as well. Products are not currently on our website but for more information please PM or email me at david.lee@ramseyfamilyracing.com

Ooooooh Dave ......

You planning on experimenting with SRT4s? I'd like to try a few things as long as they don't blow the car up and force me to take the bus to work. Of course, I'm not trying to create an 800 HP monster that requires an escape chute and fire-retardant clothing, but it would be great to see what we can get without entering the red zone.
