Cool SRT4 Vibration Issues - HELP!

Hello y'all-
I am trying to find out if anyone else has encountered vibration issues with their SRT4s and what they have done to correct it. I just bought a '09 and have had a hell of a time trying to get the issue resolved. I have had the tires balanced 3 times and finnaly replaced the RSA's with F1 Supercar tites which lessened the problem but I sill feel a vibration in the steering wheel. The local dealer sait it is my imagination and that it is normal due to the sport suspention. This was before I replaced the tires ($400). I met an owner of a '08 that had brake rotor problems but he felt vibrations under braking. I fell them at speeds over 60. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

David

Re: SRT4 Vibration Issues - HELP!

Is it speed related? Does it change when you brake or accelerate? Does it change when you turn the wheel? Is it engine speed related?

It could be a brake rotor problem. Have them pull the rotors and resurface them and then see if the problem goes away. Make sure the wheel bearing nuts a tight. Just a couple things to look at. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Re: SRT4 Vibration Issues - HELP!

its brakes if braking, but it could be a bad driveshaft. Is it worse under acceleration?

Re: SRT4 Vibration Issues - HELP!

Not so much a suggestion as a "me too".

Difference is, my car had NO vibration until last week, when I noticed a slight (VERY slight, but still annoying) vibration. Nothing had changed... no curb bumps, no ice forming in the wheels, nothing. I do feel it more on braking, but there had been no heavy braking leading up to that, which I could at least understand.

Prior to this the car was as vibration-free as if it was an electric vehicle, so needless to say ANY vibration just randomly beginning is really annoying.

I've washed it a few times (in case dirt had built up somewhere on a wheel), left it in the shop at work all day to ensure there is nothing frozen anywhere, examined driveshafts, wheels, checked for a missing wheel weight, looked at everything on the suspension, and nothing is loose or anything.

Weird.

I ran into a guy who owns a 2008 that had to have its brake rotors resurfaced due to vibrations when braking. Sounds like your problem may be similar.
