A/C knobs getting hot on long trips

After driving for long periods of time, my A/C knobs heat up to an annoying degree. Has anyone else heard of this problem?

I'm not really sure but the exhaust runs up behind the controls. I think that is what is making it so hot to the touch. My R/T didn't do it, but of course it didn't have an exhaust like my SRT. Thats just my opinion.
