What to buy a Dodge Caliber any problems with motor, tranmission Etc.?

We are both very tall people that has a small family wanting a hatch pack with good gas mileage, but also as a girl want a great look. As for price Can't spend more then 12,000 or so. Plans are to buy used, With look miles..
