CSRT4 - can't shift into reverse, first/second are very hard

Hi,

My caliber srt only has 300 miles on it, and I have the following problems since Sunday:

1. Reverse is almost impossible to shift into when the engine is working
2. First and Second gears are very hard to shift into, Third, Fourth and up are ok-ish, but far from normal (how it used to be before).

When the engine is stalled, shifting is perfect. As soon as I start it, shifting becomes super hard again.

I haven't raced anyone and revs have never been over 4000-4500, I did mis shift once from third to fourth. I've taken the car to the dealer in the evening, the guy couldn't shift into reverse at all, and he said they'll look into it. In the morning I gave them a call, they said "everything looks fine, the clutch looks ok, the tranny looks ok too". So I get to them, try to shift it into reverse, first, second, and everything seems to be working (somewhat). So I drive it for a few minutes around the place: same problem comes back. Reverse becomes impossible, other gears are super hard again. So it has to do with the heat of the engine/clutch/tranny.

I left it at the dealer again, but they seem to not have worked with SRTs ever, and are really clueless.

Anyone ever had this problem? What would you suggest?

Very odd. I'm clueless as to what the problem is with this one.

Shifter.

Hey, I had that problem. It was actualy the clips that hold the shifter cables.
If you remove the Air filter inlet and check the cables my clips were orange,
one was hanging loose. It's worth a look.

I'll try this, thank you

Edit: checked together with the service people, the clips seem to be in order
Anything else it could be?

I'm having the same issue right now, and the dealer can't figure it out either.

I'm also getting a high pitch whining sound in a few of the gears as well.

M.V. is my dad's account, the problem was the clutch.

I either got it dead from the start, or it was supposed to be recalled on all the european calibers, but wasn't for some reason. Warranty covered a new one, and so far shifting has been much easier, but I'm still driving it easy.

I took mine to the dealer, and it quit doing it. They weren't able to duplicate the problem, and since then, neither have I.

1,000 more miles and it will be out of the clutch warranty period...and it will probably go 500 miles after that.
