Registration Costs?

My Caliber was the first new car I've ever bought, but my registration cost over $700. I've been complaining about that ever since. I was wondering if anyone could share their cost so I can put mine in perspective.

Registration? I don't know how much it was on my sales write-up, but once my initial reg expires in 08 it'll only be about 50-70 per year. I'll look up the bill of sale.

Yeah, I bet if I look up my sales ticket...my registration would be a pretty penny and part of the financing amount.... Sigh.... maybe I just want to stay ignorant on that.

It has been to long sence I purchased a new car. Do you pay the state set sales tax at the dealership, plus registration cost when you get your license plates?
