problems with 2004 dodge srt 4 check engine light?

its a misfire in cylinder #2. so obviously first thing i do is change the plugs, not the problem. its never had a sip of anything except 93 octane fuel so im very leary of it being an injector, is it common for the wires or coil to go bad in 30000 miles?

Stock wires are known to crap out on you, but I think it is the #3 or #4 that is known to go (whichever one is closest to the turbo on the coil pack). If you haven't replaced them, i'd recommend it. Also check the gap in your plugs (.50 for stock; .38 for s2 or better). You don't have an MSD coil pack do you? If so, go back to a stock one.

I agree completely with Plan B. The MSD coil pack is the biggest waste of money for SRT's imo. I have personally seen 4 fail (on three different cars) and have heard of countless others. The stock coil provides more than enough voltage for the ignition systems.

If the coil is original, change the wires and see what that does for you.
