Its something you need to do if you install a Blow Off Valve.

1. It gets rid of the turbulence in the turbo inlet when the surge valve opens. 2. The hot compressed air from the turbo will not get dumped back into the turbo inlet, thus keeping turbo inlet tempatures low. 3. Aftermarket BOV's are placed further away from the turbo and have a much quicker recovery time then the OEM surge valve. Hope this is what you were looking for. |

Do I need a BOV if I block off the surge valve? I have seen some people on here have a block off plate and don't have a BOV. Is this possible?
