PRESS RELEASE:
No. 43 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Up for Bid on eBay

Auction of No. 43 production 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 to benefit Victory Junction Gang Camp

- The 43rd 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8(R) will sport a one-of-a-kind B5 Blue paint scheme to honor Petty Enterprises and the legendary racing family

- Limited-edition 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 features a 6.1-liter HEMI(R) V-8 engine, one-of-a-kind B5 blue paint scheme, carbon-fiber-like hood stripes, a chrome fuel filler cap and a no. 43 of 6,400 dash plaque

- A VIP race package to the Dodge Challenger 500 NASCAR race at the historic Darlington Raceway in Darlington, S.C. is also included

Now the better news  The customer decided to have the car shipped to our dealership (Manassas Dodge in Manassas VA) for the PDI and title work. The car will be at our dealership for about a week or so for the public to see it in person.

Of course I got pictures. A lot of pictures! The new owner is very cool and let us fall all over his car to snap pics, lick the paint, whatever I will post some here, but the entire album can be viewed here---->http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t...ger/?start=all

I will apologize in advance for the less than stellar quality of these pics. I was using a Nikon S9 point and shoot, but I think they are pretty good for that!

I had to get one with me in it

Some of the coolest things are under the car. Namely all the signatures of the build team scattered throughout the chassis...like these

And the picture is bad, but the rear bumper has signatures and sayings all over it! The customer said now he has to take the bumper off so he can get pictures of them all.

Oh yeah, and the car came with another autographed hood signed by Richard and Kyle Petty. And the box it came in...well, it's just too cool!

^ That's just the lid!

All in all, a very cool experience!

I know it's for a good cause and all but, I'm not really feeling it.

That color looks awesome.

I remember hearing about that a few months ago, pretty cool you got to see it in person.

Thanks guys (and gals...what's up Trinity Glad to see you here )

It was a very cool experience to be involved (even if it was just as an observer) in the first public look of a car that is sure to be a valuable collectible a few years down the road!

The color is really nice. My camera really doesn't do it justice.

And it's too funny that you mentioned the emo kid Richard...he is a friend of mine and even though is isn't emo at all, he really does look like it in that picture I have to show him that!

I'd say it is a collectible now. Limited edition, only one of it's kind (so far), hand-signed parts.....yeah, it's already a collectible.

That being said, I had difficulty keeping my breakfast down after seeing it. I'll give it a +1 for the color and that is pushing my boundaries of decent colors. The stripes really took it down a notch but then the '43' on the rear bumper sank the ship. I've never been a big fan of the autographs painted on a vehicle, I feel it just looks tacky and very redneck-ish. You don't see Foose, Saleen or Shelby plastering their actual signatures on their cars. A nice dash plaque with build # and an autograph is enough.

Congrats on the photo op though. Except at a show, you'll probably never see this car on the road.
