What brand of tires do you prefer? Like I mentioned in my previous thread. I am looking for custom rims for my Dodge Caliber. If i'm buying rims, I must buy tires as well. What brands or models would everyone prefer. I want the best performance possible with the smoothest ride.

For any onroad enviroment, snow rain dry, if you're willing to fork it, the Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge is an awesome tire, improved the handling and holding in a 325i BMW, very quiet, very comfortable ride. most places put a 45,000 mile warranty on it, if you have a friend at a tire shop you can get 205/55R16s for 126.. i got them at price 1 week after they were released.

my personal favorites are the Bridgestone Potenza tires. They aren't the cheapest, but they aren't as expensive as Perilli's. They are awesome all weather tires, and they grip like crazy. I've had them on an Acura integra as well as a Chevy Camero. Once i put them on the integra i could barely spin tires. they locked-up pretty fast.

Sounds like my truck.. I have a HEMI and i can get a chirp at most from a stand still.. the truck just plants and its pretty violent usually.. Goodyear Eagle LS 2s are all i need i guess.. its a 275 tire but thats not even that wide.. I dont power brake or anything so for peelouts i need my dad's 300C with the toyos (which slip like crazy i've found, not just the car itself, my brother can slip 305s with his 5.9L, just poor gripping) and also it may be that they are both may be peg-legged (No Limited Slip Differential so only one tire spins in a peelout)

i hear ya. with my camero i just traded out the stocks with potenzas. same size and all. with the integra the tires weren't as tall as stock (put new 17" rims on it as opposed to the stock 15"), but they still stuck very well. my camero would slip a little on the exit of high speed turns. the bridgesotne potenzas took care of that.

Don't get me wrong i can slide the rear end no problem in a corner... but when i do it right i can pull a right turn at 30-35 and i've found i can take this offramplike thing at 40-45 when most cars dont dare take it past 25-30.. get a little squeel on the entrance and the exit when i start hitting the gas to get outa the corner.
