TPS sensors

Just wondering, Do you have to have the original TPS sensors from the car, or can the shop install ones for you? How much do they normally cost if so?

Re: TPS sensors

Yeah, has to be an option on the car. Not really something that can be installed afterwards. Not at any reasonable cost anyhow. Not really worth it. Heck, I run all winder long with no sensors in my winter wheels.

Re: TPS sensors

I thought all cars after 98 have to have TPS?
When you guys change your rims what are you doing on the Caliber? Do you swap the sensors to the new rims or do you get new sensors?

Re: TPS sensors

Don't think I was clear about my question..I already have the system, just have aftermarket rims with no sensors. So my TPS light is always on. Im getting new tires soon and wanted sensors im them.

Re: TPS sensors

Ah.

You don't need a dealer to install or configure that. They are self-configuring.

Places like discount tires sell a tps rebuild kit for like forty bucks, and that should work to adapt new tps sensors to your new rims

I looked at em a couple weeks ago for my aftermarket wheels. New sensors from discount tire is $60 each.
